What is the distance in the shot? (How close or far away are you from your subject?). I tried to get as close as I could without the image coming out blurry. I cropped my images to focus on the main parts of the picture to make my photos seems closer than they really are. What was your point of view when you took the photos? (from above, below, straight on...)I had different points of views with these photos, but I tried to get close and from the above angle in every photo. As we discussed in class, how did you "make the ordinary extraordinary?" You see my elements in different angles than you would see just walking past them. I had to get the right angle to make the ordinary extraordinary. Did you consider the rule of thirds to compose your shots? In which photos? Describe. I always consider the rule of thirds when I'm shooting. This makes the picture more interesting because it spaces things out and puts objects off to the side of the photo, rather than right in the middle. Which one of of your photos is a dynamic composition that successfully leads the viewer’s eye through the work? The photo of the bike's shadow is a dynamic composition because you can see all the lines from the bike crossing and then to the corner, you can also see a part of the actual bike.
How did you move beyond subject matter and make your images deal with surface quality, not just the subject of the image? I got closer to the product I was focusing on to enhance the detail of the product. Which of your images do you feel is the most captivating? The 1st one with the leaf because you can see the roots and rain drops on the leaf also you can see the roughness on the edges of the leaf. Do you feel the lighting conditions made an impact on the quality of the images? Yes If you could shoot one of them over again, which one would it be and why? the 3rd photo with the wood piled on top of each other because I feel as if i wasn't close enough to get that wood-like texture.
Did you consider the rule of thirds to compose your shots? In which photos? Describe. I always consider the rule of thirds in my shots to make the photo more interesting and not have everything in the center of the photo. Which one of of your photos is a dynamic composition that successfully leads the viewer’s eye through the work? The bottom left photo has a dynamic composition that makes the viewer really look throughout the photo. Which image do you feel contains the best play of organic and geometric shapes? The bottom left photo again because there's so many different rectangles throughout the photo. Which image do you feel best satisfies the assignment? Why? Top left captures a photo of a powerline. I feel as if tis best satisfied the assignment because it shows line, shape, and pattern within the lines. I also used the rule of 3rds to make the photo more interesting.
